I spent the last Sunday in Landshut, watching Landshuter Hochzeit - recreation of the festivities connected with the marriage between the Polish princess Jadwiga Jagiellonka and the Bavarian duke Georg der Reiche in 1475.

Differently than the other well-known Bavarian festival, Oktoberfest, Landshuter Hochzeit is held only every four years. Although it lasts for about a month and consists of many events, the main attraction is the bridal pageant, taking place on Sundays. Volunteers, dressed in historically accurate garments, reenact Jadwigas entrance to the city.

The parade was nice to see, but if you missed it, there is no need to cry about having the next chance in four years. I enjoyed roaming through the city more, mainly because of the old town, with its adorable, pastel colored houses. St. Martin's Church - the world tallest brick building - reminded me of St. Mary's Basilica in Cracow, but any reminiscence ends after entering.

As usual, I didn't make many photos and even less good ones. But here is the view of the city, as seen from the Trausnitz Castle.
